Join ARETE at the table in Guardswell Glasshouse for an evening of grounding into creative, common sense dining. Neil and George will host you for a four-course fire cooked dinner plus welcome snacks, inspired by the seasons and influenced by both chefs' classic, contemporary training. Step into a relaxed, small scale dining experience - whilst taking in the sunset over the Carse of Gowrie. Expect an indulgent pasta course, followed by fire cooked meat and veg and then into a light, delightful desert . You will be welcomed with canapés, good music and something delicious in your glass from the Guardswell Bar.

Grilled beef heart, anchoiade and Japanese milk bread
Tomato and peach gazpacho, stracciatella and lovage
Scallop crudo, pickled elderflower and sichuan salt
Ricotta Raviolo, peas, broad beans and mint
Mutton flat bread, grilled courgette, pickled chilli and mustard leaf
Choux bun, raspberry ice cream and praline crème anglaise
A selection of natural wines and pairing cocktails will be available to purchase.

Arete is a specialised culinary service based in London and Edinburgh by chefs George Colebrook and Neil Paterson. Arete offers bespoke dining experiences across the UK and beyond, working closely with suppliers to source the best seasonal produce to create memorable, unique menus.
George and Neil met while working together at Restaurant Barra in Berlin, which Neil co-founded in 2018, and found common ground in their focus on cooking the best ingredients with classic culinary techniques. They founded Arete in 2024.
